She’s Electric launches event series to empower women through sustainability 

Spearheaded by former-Glamour magazine boss and editor of YOU, Jo Elvin, and automotive journalist Erin Baker, the initiative will engage the public through meaningful conversations about new products, tech, and services 

The programme is made up of six events, which are set to the place across the UK in the month, starting at Danesfield House & Spa, Buckinghamshire, on Sunday 22nd October. A full list of dates can be found below. 

Every venue on the list will host talk from inspirational women who have pioneered the push towards sustainable living, touching on topics from leasing and purchasing to integrating net zero into daily routines and habits. A key focus will be demystifying the electric vehicle (EV) market, a process that will involve offering tests drives of a new Genesis Electric Car, or alternatively guests can opt to be driven around in the cutting edge model. 

While the idea of a gender-specific sustainability series may raise eyebrows, successive studies have shown a significant gap between male and female demographics when it comes to understandings of environmental issues. This contrasts other studies that have shown women in positions of power are more likely to make decisions based on social, environmental, and governance principles. The overall ideal being to inform people who otherwise would be at risk of falling through ‘knowledge gaps’.
