UK’s biggest Women In Cooling event set for Birmingham
InstallerSHOW is behind the industry gathering, which will run for three days this summer.
Taking place at Birmingham NEC, the conference and exhibition will run from27th – 29th June 2024, and feature an inspirational keynote speech, presentations and panel discussions from leading female figures in the UK and global sector.
Among other things, the first ever World Refrigeration Day will be announced, with a theme of ‘temperature matters’. Heat pump ‘icon’ Graham Hendra will deliver a lecture, while subjects including heat recovery, F-Gas, and supermarket cooling will form the focus for showcases.
A dedicated work wear zone will also be on-site, giving attendees opportunity to try and buy new gear, and hear from others using them at the event. A runway show will also feature, with tradespeople modelling the latest kit.
Elsewhere on the programme, there will be full third day of discussions and networking, with a dedicated lunch to improving and bolstering connections between professionals in the industry. Finally, the event will conclude with an Influential Women Showcase, tied to the World Refrigeration Day announcement. Heating and cooling engineers, electricians, and builders are all encouraged to attend.
Last year, COP28 resulted in a new Global Cooling pledge, with 68 countries pledging to reduce emissions from this industry by 63% by 2050. If successful, this could remove up to 78billion tonnes of CO2e emissions from the atmosphere. And, with reduced energy consumption, the financial savings would also be significant. In October last year, a heating, cooling, and ventilation training centre reopened in Birmingham.
