The first roundtables and speakers have been unveiled for the UK event, which takes place in autumn.
Set to take place at The Chester Hotel, Aberdeen on Thursday 26th September, W.I.N.E., or Women In Energy, has now published the first details of its panel discussions.
Ingrid Huldal, Director for Portfolio Advancement at Expro, will lead on a roundtable dedicated to geothermal technologies and ‘Harnessing Earth’s Power. Meanwhile, ‘Get A Boardroom Seat, hosted by Amanda McCullock of TMM Recruitment, will focus on career progression as a collaborative effort.
The Energy Voice event will also see a session about ‘New Energy’, looking ahead to the future of the sector, connecting women from ‘legacy industries’ with leaders from net zero transition and oteher cutting-edge technologies.
Speakers on the day will include Doris Reiter, Senior Vice President for BP North Sea, Lisa Mitchell, Commercial Director at STATS Group, Megan Hine, Drager’s Business Development Manager UK Ireland, Paul Smith, Head of People and Organisation UK at Aker Solutions, and Sue Stevens, Head of Commercial Elementz.

The energy sectors continues to grapple with a huge gender imbalance. According to IRENA’s World Energy Transitions Outlook report, in 2022 just one-third of the renewables sector were female. In 2020, researchers at the University of Plymouth just 5% of engineers in the renewable sector were women, compared to 51% of primary school children. The same analysis also found less than 8% of engineers were from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.
