New partnership will deliver clean refrigerated haulage

Energy use and costs are both expected to fall as a result of the new agreement, which will see leaders from onboard power and transport solutions.

Electrofit Industrial Solutions [EIS] and Hulsteins will now combine their expertise to help improve the environmental record of refrigerated logistics.

EIS’ cost-reduction product SilNOxEco is a fuel additive compatible with all diesels, biofuel and petrol. Made from natural and biodegradable ingredients, it can be added to tanks to reduce fuel consumption. It also keeps maintenance and vehicle downtime to a minimum.

Meanwhile, Hultsteins’ Ecogen technology is a diesel-free transport refrigeration system, developed in recognition of the fact that existing approaches to keeping freight chilled and frozen are combustion-to-atmosphere, with zero filtration or particulate capture taking place in the vehicle. By installing the company’s product, emissions diesel particulate matter [DPM] and nitrous oxide [NOx], two of the deadliest forms of air pollution, both fall.

‘I am looking forward to working with EIS and their customers who operate temperature-controlled vehicles to reduce emissions and cost,’ said Graham Usher, Managing Director of Hulsteins UK.

‘We offer solutions tailored to significantly reduce energy usage and costs. Working with Hultsteins and their cost-saving sustainability products, we aim to bring cost and carbon reducing benefits to operators of temperature-controlled vehicles in the UK,’ said EIS Director, Steve Noble. ‘Our mission is to optimise energy consumption and keep operator costs and harmful emissions down, while reducing both electricity and diesel fuel consumption. To this end, the combination of SulNOxEco and for example, Hultsteins’ Ecogen, provides what we believe to be the optimum commercial solution, and we look forward to recommending it to our customers.’
