‘The Ripple Effect’ celebrates water-environmental professionals

The CIWEM mini series is part of a wider campaign to showcase the essential climate and nature work of the water sector. 

The Ripple Effect: Inspiring A Resilient Environment will feature dynamic content to educate viewers on the importance of adaptation, resilience and responsible stewardship of the planet. 

Short films, interviews and case studies will form part of the project, with innovators, leaders and collaborators from a range of associated sectors will all feature. RAIN, Reclaim the Rain, Devon County Council/Devon Resilience Innovation Project (DRIP), Project Groundwater, APEM Group, SRK Consulting, AtkinsRéalis, The Zurich Climate Resilience Alliance, UK Water Industry Research (UKWIR), and Marshalls PLC have all had input. 

‘The Ripple Effect digital series with CWP underscores the indispensable role of climate resilience in securing our future,’ said Anna Daroy, CEO of the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management [CIWEM]. ‘By highlighting the pioneering efforts of those on the front lines, we aim to demonstrate the critical importance of collaboration in protecting our planet’s ecosystems and ensuring a sustainable legacy for generations to come.’

Andy Graham, Senior Project Manager of Community Wetlands at WWT, Jim Hall, Professor of Climate and Environmental Risks at the University of Oxford. and Steve Omerod, Deputy Chair of Natural Resources Wales are also involved. Other experts include Ceris van de Vyver, Director of CV Water Consultancy; and Ece Ozdemiroglu, Founding Director of EFTEC. Meanwhile, and Spains Hall Estate, EWSC, Thames21, Aire Resilience, Southeast Rivers Trust, Chilterns National Landscape and Presidential Call to Action are also involved. 

‘These films vividly illustrate the intricate connections between climate resilience, community health, and sustainable development. It’s a powerful call to action, urging us all to engage more deeply with the challenges of our time and to contribute to building a healthier, more resilient planet,’ said Max Smith, Founder & Managing Director of CWP.
