The South East England city has been chosen for a new project, rolling out domestic energy upgrades and a new renewable facility open in the area.
Onezero Energy aims to sign up 1,000 homeowners to the scheme, which has launched following a pilot in Lewes, just outside Brighton, where a number of residences have now benefite from improvements, including one full electrification which is approaching completion.
Upgrade packages include solar panels, batteries, insulation, and heat pumps, among other technologies, with work completed in as little as two weeks. Professionals responsible for installations are sourced from existing pools of tradespeople in local areas, with opportunities to upskill where necessary. The first ‘100kw heroes’ are now being celebrated – the installers responsible for completing 100kw of solar equipment in the past five months alone.
By creating 1,000 solar-powered properties, Onezero Energy is effectively developing a virtual power plant in Brighton & Hove, with the production capacity exceeding demand, therefore meaning excess clean energy can be sold back into the grid at a profit. Homeowners are invited to the official campaign launch, which will take place at 7PM on Friday 14th June. Tickets are free, but limited to 200 – you can register to attend here.
‘One of the biggest things you can do to reduce your impact on the planet’s climate is improve the energy efficiency of your home. Onezero was set up to help homeowners gain the financial, health and environmental benefits of doing just this,’ said Howard Johns, Founder of Onezero Energy. ‘Our energy upgrade scheme simplifies the process, providing pre-packaged systems that fit a wide variety of homes, all delivered within a swift two-week installation period! These systems can cut carbon emissions by up to 70% and reduce household energy bills by over 50%. But many homeowners would like expert advice and support and that is where we come in.’
