Now in its third year, the contest is expected to attract more than 1,000 applicants and trigger multi-million private sector investment.
BE100 is run by Blue Earth, the organisation behind Europe’s largest environmental investment summit, which takes place every October in London.
Submissions are now being accepted, with a closing date of 5th September. 100 finalists will be chosen by an expert panel and invited to attend this year’s event in the UK capital. Of these, 30 will be asked to pitch attendees during the two-day programme, 10 startups from three specialised categories.
Over the last two years alone, BE100 has brought in £20million of private sector funding, helping support a number of green and purpose-drive businesses get off the ground and expand. Businesses can apply directly, or partners, investors and Blue Earth community members can nominate firms they believe should be acknowledged.
You can find the criteria for submissions here.
‘The BE100 isn’t just about recognising great ideas,’ says Guy Hayler, Co-Founder of Blue Earth. ‘It’s about backing the businesses that can deliver real, measurable impact, and giving them the platform, investment, and partnerships they need to scale.
‘We’ve been proud partners of Blue Earth for many years and winning the BE100 Scale category in 2024 was a real game-changer for us. The BE100 has opened doors and created opportunities that have truly accelerated our growth,’ added Dr Somayeh Taheri, Co-Founder of Urban Chain, a community energy firm which secured investment through the competent during last year’s Blue Earth Summit.
