The growth of electric vehicles and why ‘electrification is inevitable’
Following the announcement in the summer that the government plans to ban the sale of new petrol and diesel cars from 2040s, all eyes are on the electric vehicle (EV) industry to rise to the challenge and keep Britain moving. Environment Journal spoke to James McKemey, head of customer operations at the EV charging network Pod Point, about the challenges the industry faces as we move to low-emission and all electric vehicles.
Following on from recent announcements both in the UK and abroad about the rollout of EVs, how well is the UK poised to take advantage of this new technology?
The recent government announcement sets a clear direction of travel, which is very welcome as far as we are concerned. It confirms what we have said for a while, which is electrification is inevitable.
