UK direct-to-business renewable energy provision expands

A new company is looking to support industrial and commercial companies in their sustainability targets, removing complex contracts and obstacles to CPPAs.

Evolve Energy, formerly BPG Energy, has officially launched in a bid to improve renewable provision direct-to-businesses.

According to the company, there’s a growing demand among UK businesses for more effective ways of plugging into Britain’s clean energy supply. Despite the availability of Corporate Power Purchase Agreements [CPPA], and Britain producing more than 50% of its energy supply from renewable sources, many commercial customers often find it difficult to incorporate such contracts into their licensed supply. Suppliers are also failing to integrate CPPAs into supply positions, adding to the obstacles.

Evolve’s new renewable energy consortiums aim to overcome this issue through collaborations with independent power generators, meaning companies can source clean energy from sites located across the country, including wind, solar, and hydro-generated power. Non-standard and flexible contracts mean solutions can be tailored specifically to the end-customer, including a number of CPPA options and help in overcoming credit challenges.

‘From energy price hikes to the accelerating energy transition, we take a truly collaborative approach, supporting each individual customer in navigating the complexities of the ever-changing energy market,’ said Michael Abbott, CEO at Evolve Energy. ‘We understand the inherent challenges customers face, and our expert teams develop creative, flexible solutions, no matter the challenge. Through our dynamic business model and advanced in-house technology, we empower customers to both thrive and play an active role in building a more sustainable future.’
