Electric taxi firm appoints new general manager

Sherbet, one of London’s largest fleet of Electric taxis, has appointed Martyn Hambley as general manager to help fuel its next exciting phase of growth.

Mr Hambley comes to Sherbets with a wealth of experience in the Taxi industry and a proven track record of growth both in the UK and internationally.

Having previously worked in the London and Scottish Taxi markets since 2003, his last role was overseas in Oman working for the National Transport Provider to develop and launch a taxi business.

At Sherbet, he will be tasked with the expansion of both the electric Fleet, to help lead the way to achieving the Mayor’s Greener Air Policy and Bookings, to ensure all Londoners have access to the iconic Black Taxi for safe & comfortable travel.

Mr Hambley will play a key role in meeting the company’s aggressive growth goals as well as building on the firm’s outstanding reputation for service.

‘Martyn’s track record and international experience are second to none and we are thrilled to have him on board,’ said founder and chief executive, Asher Moses.

‘Attracting someone of Martyn’s calibre into the business is a great endorsement of our strategy and ambition. It’s a very challenging time for the taxi industry so it’s critical we build a highly experienced team to pull through and come out the other side stronger.’

Mr Hambley added: ‘I’m excited to join Sherbet both because of it’s purpose lead mission, which I’m personally passionate about, but also because of this pivotal moment in time for the world famous black taxi industry.

‘Not only is the iconic black taxi now electric but in the current pandemic it is clearly the safest way for Londoner’s to travel. Asher is a visionary and I’m excited to help him and the Sherbet team make it happen.’
