More than 1,400 electric vehicle [EV] charge points have now been added to the UK’s largest charging platform in a major new partnership.
Believ already operates almost 1,500 charge points at 500 locations across Britain. Every site runs on 100% renewable energy, and the company works alongside local authorities and councils, responding to area-specific needs with all charging speeds available.
Funded by the Liberty Global Ventures and Zouk Capital, the firm which manages the HM Treasury-backed Charging Infrastructure Investment Fund [CIIF], this new agreement will see Octopus Energy Electroverse, already the UK’s largest EV charging platform, expand significantly. Known for its ‘one-card, one-app’ model, the system allows drivers to access hundreds of thousands of charge points operated by 700 brands.
‘As an increasing number of drivers transition to EVs, we are committed to ensuring that charge points are reliable and accessible for all. Through partnering with the Octopus Electroverse, we take another stride toward achieving this and in playing our part to help decarbonise UK roads,’ said Guy Bartlett, Chief Executive Officer at Believ.
‘We are thrilled to add more residential and town centre charge points to the Octopus Electroverse platform, making EV charging available with a tap of a card or app. This partnership accelerates our mission to simplify EV charging for everyone,’ added Matt Davies, Director of Octopus Electroverse.
Earlier this month, Environment Journal reported on a new deal between E.ON and Zoom EV, offering electric vehicle drivers signed up to the latter a discounted Next Drive tariff for home charging, along with a number of other perks. Meanwhile, in May charge points operated by parking specialist APCOA were added to the Zapmap app.
