2024 Go Green with Taiwan open for worldwide proposals

Cash prizes of $20,000 will be awarded to projects across the globe.

Taiwan’s International Trade Administration [TITA] and the country’s Ministry of Economic Affair [MOEA] have launched the campaign to establish partnerships with the global net zero and sustainability community.

Home to advanced technology, infrastructure and related services, Taiwan is already known for a strong research and development environment, and high skillset in the associated workforce. The state also produces a significant amount of stable, high-value-added green materials and products, and is home to the world’s tallest green building, Taipei 101.

Submissions are open until 31st August, with proposals welcomed from research institutions, universities, NGOs, public associations and more. Full details can be found here.

Following this, a preliminary selection will be announced in September, followed by the announcement of semi-finalists during the week of 7th -11th October. Semi-finals will take place on 1st and finalists announced by 8th November. A Final Competition will be held on 10th December, with overall winners unveiled the same month.

Launched at the AMBI Space One immersive exhibition facility, located inside Taipei 101, the campaign event showcased a number of cutting edge solutions. These included a paperless electronic check-in wall, eco-friendly tableware, and the serving of fair trade beverages.

Last month, the UK’s Political Purpose Awards shortlist was announced, celebrating the most climate-positive political voices in Britain. For the first time, the ceremony will also feature a wooden soon category for ‘climate obstructers‘.
