Hi I’m Paul Pace,

I’m the Service Director – Public Realm, Highways & Waste Management here at Bedford Borough Council.

And I’d like to thank you very much for looking at the exciting opportunity that is the Head of Public Realm, Waste & Resource Management. It’s an interesting role, a very challenging role that combines a whole range of different functions from the public realm, waste and resource management responsibilities, delivering multi-million-pound transformational projects to improve our services to both residents and businesses of the borough.

You will be responsible for the creation and delivery of up-to-date environment/ sustainability-related policies, procedures and plans; fulling a statutory and customer focussed role, protecting councils parks, open spaces and water courses as well as ensuring a suitable and sufficient bereavement service, waste, recycling collection service, street cleansing and grounds maintenance service for a growing borough. And underpinning all of that, our climate change program, where we’ve got some ambitious climate targets to achieve for our population.

I’m really interested in hearing from candidates who share the vision and passion that I have for our borough.
