Environment Journal Publications

Welcome to the 2025 Environmental Procurement Guide (preview edition), published in association with

Environment Journal and Air Quality News

These websites report daily upon the challenges organisations face when working to mitigate their environmental impact and given this, we are extending this coverage to focus upon some of the environmental solutions available via an Environmental Services Guide.

The Centre for Local Economic Strategies calculated that local government spending some £72billion on procuring goods and services. Given this spending power, sustainable or environmental procurement can play a vital strategic direction for local authorities considering the environmental impact of their purchases when buying goods and services.

In this Environmental Services Guide we bring together many of the organisations who offer products and services which may facilitate the drive towards the delivery of sustainability throughout the entire procurement life cycle, meeting legal and financial obligations, following best practice and achieving economic, environmental and social benefits. The Guide is divided into a number of sections for ease of use, introducing suppliers working across environmental services, waste & recycling, air quality and net zero, and traffic & transport.
