Veolia to deliver specialist engineering for NHS and public sector decarbonisation

A number of authorities will now fall under the agreement.

Veolia was given a place on the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative [NOE CPC] Hard FM Framework, and will now deliver Specialist Estates Engineering and Maintenance Services to various sites, buildings and organisations.

Provision of renewable and low carbon heating systems, solar PV electricity generation, electrical works, plumbing, heating, standby power generation, air conditioning and more will all now be managed through this agreement.

‘Through this new framework agreement we will be able to extend our services to more NHS and public sector facilities, and help accelerate decarbonisation,’ ssaid john Abraham, Chief Operating Officer, Industrial, Water & Energy for Veolia UK. ‘By delivering the expert services essential to support these facilities, this further highlights our goal to help our customers reduce their carbon emissions through our strategic GreenUP programme.’

Veolia is already delivering around 120,000 tonnes of carbon emissions savings annually across 100 UK hospitals, significantly reducing healthcare greenhouse gas footprints for 8.1million patients annually. Earlier this yearEnvironment Journal reported on the lack of carbon measurement taking place across the NHS England estate. 29% of all Trusts that fall under the national authority were doing nothing to monitor the carbon footprint of all operations. However, 67% had received funding for sustainability and carbon improvements, and 60% were undergoing major systems upgrades to become ‘greener’.
