World’s greenest events recognised with AGF Certification

The latest longlist of the most sustainable festivals, conferences, sports events and more has been published.

40 individual dates met the criteria for A Greener Future [AGF] Certification in 2024. These include French gathering Les Escales, UK-based tickets American Express Presents BST Hyde Park and Bristol Harbour Festival, and Telluride in the US. 

Sziget in Hungary, Sweden’s Rosendal Garden Party, D’A Film Festival and Jardin de las Delicias in Spain, Norway’s Øyafestivalen and Belgium’s Paradise City and UEC Road Championships also made the list. Four events were certified as ‘outstanding’ – Green Gathering [UK], Øyafestivalen [Norway], Paradise City [Belgium] and We Love Green [France]. 

Next month, the annual Green Events & Innovations [GEI17] Conference will be held in London. This is set to include the International AGF Awards 2025 on 25th February. Last year, 27 events were nominated for trophies from 12 countries, and nine won awards. Paradise City won the top International Greener Festival Award prize.
