Air quality solutions company Plasma Clean is now focusing on indoor air quality in order to improve workplace wellbeing and employee health.
Plasma Clean has previously worked with hospitality companies such as the Hilton, Premier Inn, Burger King and McDonald’s, but with indoor air quality increasingly becoming embedded in corporate wellbeing strategies, the firm is now extending their reach.
Plasma Clean are now working to provide air quality solutions to HR professionals, building and facilities managers, commercial landlords and all businesses who are concerned about the impacts of indoor air pollution on the health and wellbeing of employees.
Their new products and services include low-pressure-drop air filters, UV-C light systems, odour control units, air quality sensors and duct-cleaning and duck-leakage testing.
All of the devices are suitable for new builds or can be retrofitted into existing buildings.
A survey commissioned by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) reports that almost 70% of office workers believe that poor air quality in their work-place is having a negative effect on their productivity, health, and wellbeing.
With illness costing UK businesses around £77bn each year, improving employee health and wellbeing is more important than ever.
Dr David Glover of Plasma Clean, said: ‘The health impacts of poor outdoor air quality are well documented and have been linked to the likes of respiratory tract infections, lung cancer, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.’
‘Indoors, you’ll find the same pollutants such as NOx and diesel particulates, often at higher levels, mixed with Volatile Organic Compounds such as dust.’
‘These create a pretty unhealthy cocktail of contaminants.’
‘With most of us spending on average 90% of our time indoors, it’s important that the air that we breathe – some 10,800 liters a day – is of good quality, with low concentrations of CO2 and pollutants and high ventilation rates.’
‘Air quality improvements can be easily achieved through the installation of plasma and UV-C technologies that eliminate these harmful pollutants. The use of air quality monitors to continuously and visibly check pollutants is also effective.’
