About us
The Tree Service are responsible for ensuring public trees under the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council are maintained for the long-term benefit of the communities they contribute to.
We are responsible for approximately 600,000 public trees across the County. We care for trees along approximately 4600km of public highway, more than 100 property sites, including County maintained libraries, schools and other sites where the County have responsibility for tree care.
The Tree Service works closely with a variety of departments and functions within the County to deliver a holistic approach to tree care.
We also have other tree related opportunities available at a similar or lower level Tree Aftercare and Planting Service (TAPS) Officer OCC610284 and Tree Aftercare and Planting Service (TAPS) Supervisor OCC610283
About the role
Your role comes with plenty of variety and is focused on caring for a varied and established tree stock, while identifying opportunities to increase canopy cover. You could be undertaking a variety of functions that include:
You will contribute to the proactive tree care of Oxfordshire County Council’s tree stock by promoting the Tree Service and the benefits of trees to residents and stakeholders to ensure a holistic and consistent approach to tree care across the County. You will promote transparency and build trust with our communities.
The role will cover the whole County.
About you
Are you passionate about proactive tree care with a focus on managing trees as assets to maximise the benefits they provide?
Are you an experienced Tree Inspector / Arboriculturist who wants a new challenge and the opportunity to deliver and influence tree care and proactive management across one of England’s most beautiful and diverse treescapes?
Are you recently qualified in arboriculture and are looking to start gaining invaluable experience to utilise and implement the knowledge that you have gained through formal education?
Are you an experienced arborist looking to step away from operational arboriculture and embark on a new chapter of your career?
If the answer is 'Yes' to any of the above, then you could be the person we’re looking for to join our growing Tree Service.
