Cornwall Council is proud to be working in partnership to create a unique new community which will breathe new life into in the heart of Cornwall’s China Clay mining area near St Austell. Planning consent for this new community has been granted and we are now moving into an exciting new phase of delivery.

This project forms a key part of the delivery of the Cornwall Local Plan and the Cornwall Strategic Economic Plan. The Economic Growth and Development Directorate of Cornwall Council provides strategic leadership to ensure that Cornwall achieves its full potential and that economic growth is delivered in a sustainable way meeting the needs of Cornwall’s growing population.

The normal duties of the role may involve travel on a regular or occasional basis. It is a condition of employment that the role holder can exercise satisfactory travel mobility in order to fulfil the obligations of the role. For those journeys where an alternative form of transport is unavailable or impracticable the role holder will be required to provide a suitable vehicle.

About you

To support this work we are seeking a proactive and energetic Person to work seamlessly as part of the Council’s Sustainable Growth and Innovation Team and in conjunction with our Partner organisations to ensure that the essential enabling infrastructure is delivered to support the strategic programme at West Carclaze.

You will be adept at working across organisational and team boundaries and will thrive on the challenges of finding and implementing innovative solutions. You will be able to translate high level strategies and aspirations into concrete and practical delivery plans. You will be a naturally organised person with a results focus. You will understand and appreciate that relationships matter.
