City of Doncaster employs around 4,300 staff, who work together with Team Doncaster partners to deliver a wide range of services meeting the needs of those who live, work and visit the area. The Council provides a range of vital services at the heart of the community, as well as investing in exciting and ambitious projects that keep Doncaster firmly on the map.   

We are currently recruiting for a Flood Risk Manager to lead and manage the authority’s delivery of the Flood Risk, Highway and Land Drainage functions, whilst developing and setting operation policies’, and ensuring these are implemented to enhance the resilience for City of Doncaster to the impacts of flooding and providing expert advice, strategic guidance and detailed technical reports to Senior Management, the Mayor and cabinet members. To ensure all work is delivered inline with the Council’s Sustainability priorities including the increased implementation of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDs).

The team are currently working towards the delivery of increased capital funding allocation for flood risk alleviate schemes, and structural maintenance of its highway drainage assets.

The Flood Risk Manager will be responsible managing the finances of the team to ensure that the service is delivered to budget and income targets and saving are met.

We are looking for a hardworking and conscientious person to work in a busy environment, providing an essential and valuable service to our customers, who can build effective relationships with customers and relevant partners.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within an operational Flood Risk / Highways Environment, be well-organised, flexible, and have good communication skills.
